Sundays

Whether you’ve never been to church before, haven’t been for a while, or are simply curious, you are very welcome at St James & St Paul’s. You don’t need to know what to do or what to say — just come as you are and join us.

Sunday Morning Worship

Sundays at 10:00am
St James, Hill Top, B70 0SB

Sunday mornings are relaxed, friendly, and suitable for all ages. The service includes music, prayer, Bible readings, and a talk that connects the Christian faith with everyday life. Our music is a mix of modern songs and well-known hymns.

  • 1st Sunday – All-Age Worship (everyone together throughout the service)

  • 2nd & 4th Sundays – Holy Communion

  • 3rd Sunday – Morning Worship

Children are very welcome in our services. On Sundays that are not All-Age Worship, we run Sunday School (SJPKids), giving children space to learn and explore faith in an age-appropriate way — while still being free to be children.

Sunday Evening Worship

Sundays at 6:30pm
St Paul’s, Golds Hill, B70 0TS

Our Sunday evening service is quieter and more reflective. It uses more traditional prayers and music, but remains informal and welcoming. Many people enjoy the gentle rhythm and structure of these services, especially if they prefer a calmer end to the day.

  • 1st & 3rd Sundays – Holy Communion

  • 2nd & 4th Sundays – Evening Prayer

You don’t need to be familiar with church language or liturgy — everything is explained, and there’s no pressure to join in with anything you’re unsure about.

What Should I Wear? What Should I Expect?

There is no dress code for any of our services — some people dress casually, others more smartly. Please wear whatever you feel comfortable in.

When you arrive, someone will be happy to welcome you and help you find your way around. You are free to sit, stand, sing, or simply listen. You won’t be asked to do anything on the spot, and you don’t need to be a church member to attend.

Above all, we hope you will find a place where you can encounter God, hear the good news of Jesus, and feel at home.
